No matter in the restaurant or during the feast, many people will direct put beer or wine into many blocks of ice. Actually, it is couldn’t keep cooling for a short time.

How to chill wine quickly?

So how can you chill wine quickly?  It is very simple but not rough to solve this problem, that is full water into the ice bucket because ice could melt quickly in water, then the heat of wine will be absorbed very quickly. First, put some ice into the bucket, then fill the water, the proportion of ice and water is 1:1, the total capacity of ice water should be 3/4 of the ice bucket. At last, when you put wine into the ice water, I advise that keep 2cm between the wine and the bottom of the bucket.

Salt is also very important when we want to chill wine in a short time.

Snow in Winter, people always sprinkle salt on road, then the ice will melt quickly, that is because salt could reduce the freezing point of water, and speed up the rate of snow melting. In the same principle, if you want to speed up the rate of chilled wine, especially champagne, you also could fill salt into the ice water, each gallon of water, and add one cup of salt. First, put warm water in a bowl, add salt and mix to dissolve, then fill warm salt water into the ice water, then the cooling effect will be more obvious.

The chill time is different with different styles of wine.

In addition to the above considerations, chilled wine also needs to pay attention to the time. The chilling time depends on the style of each type of wine, such as full-bodied red wine, if the drinking temperature is too low, it will taste thin and dry, so if Red Wine needs to cool down, usually only 3-5 minutes to chill.  6-10 minutes for lighter-bodied White Wines, 10-15 minutes for Sparkling and dessert wines
